Individual Therapy

Taylored to you and your life

What kind of people do you see?

I see adults and older adolescents (age 16 and 17)

I am not currently seeing children

I see both Christians and non-Christians

I am LGBTQ friendly

I am not currently doing psychological or education evaluations

I do not have enough expertise to see people with disordered eating

I do not testify in court or do court assessments

I do no write third-party letters for emotional support animals,

disability, FMLA, and matters related to injury or divorce proceedings.

What will our first meeting be like?

When you come to your first session, we will discuss your symptoms and the areas you are concerned about in your life. We might explore a little bit of your background history if it applies. We will begin to build your therapeutic goals, and I'll guide you through how the therapy process generally works. We will be sure to leave some time for your questions. Anxiety and trepidation is normal during your first appointment, but I will work with you to have a renewed sense of hope when you leave.

What will we work on?

When we begin the heavy lifting, depending on your situation, I may focus on the following:

  • Overall health including diet, sleep, exercise and other health affirming habits
  • Patterns of thinking to help reduce stress and improve your problem solving skills
  • Outlining the choices in front of you that empower you to take control of your life
  • Mindfulness, meditation, deep breathing and relaxation
  • Learning how to identify your feelings and develop better coping skills
  • Identifying stressors that get you most overhwelmed so we can get ahead of them
  • Exploring values, goals and meaning in life to help you get unstuck
  • Decreasing your inner critic and boosting your self-esteem
  • Practicing healthy boundaries and saying no
  • Incorporating some of the secrets of Scandinavian countries where residents consistently score high on happiness, even in dark, long winters

What about the nitty gritty?

I am generally in the office for sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Right now I am offering daytime appointments. I am currently not on any insurance panels so this will be an out-of-pocket and out-of-network investment. I charge $150 per 50-minute session. Because of the No Surprise Act, you have a right to, and will receive, an outline of the estimated cost of the course of your treatment. I am also happy to provide an invoice if you would like to pursue a partial reimbursement from your health care company.
